Hawaii Wedding Emcee

Why should you think about hiring a professional emcee for your wedding reception?

The emcee is like the conductor of the orchestra. You might have a stage full of world-class musicians, but without a conductor they’re probably not going to sound good together. In the same way, having an emcee who has experience “conducting” a wedding reception can make a huge difference in how your program flows and how much your guests enjoy the reception.

A good emcee can read the room to keep the energy of the program consistent with how the guests are responding, and avoid awkward moments when things don’t go according to plan…

Have you been to a reception where the projector is having technical difficulties, or the groomsman is in the bathroom when he’s called up to give his toast? If your uncle is the emcee, chances are things could get a little uncomfortable if he kills time by telling a joke that the new in-laws find inappropriate 😅

A professional emcee has lots of experience with situations like this (and way more), so they’ll be able to roll with the punches and keep the experience of program seamless and enjoyable for you and your guests.

I've been emceeing weddings and events professionally since 2008.

My role as emcee is to be an extension of you — the couple — and your vision for your reception. Whether you want the event to be casual, fun or formal, I adapt my style to fit what you’re going for. I’m not there to do a comedy routine; my job is to keep the spotlight on you and make sure your guests are having a great time.

Please feel free to reach out if you’re having trouble figuring out what your reception would look like, even before you know if you want to hire an emcee. It doesn’t matter if you’ve been a guest at dozens of weddings, it’s still hard to decide what you want to do at yours. Hawaiʻi weddings can be especially challenging because you can’t rely on google to find all the different local traditions and how to fit them into your program.

I’ve had so many experiences with all kinds of weddings (and I love meeting new people) so if you need help, I’m just a click away 😊

I don’t get much footage of me on the job, so here’s some really old footage of me emceeing my cousin’s wedding back in the day… My wife says I’m much better now 😅  but at least you can hear what I sound like!

My “day job” is producing videos with my wife, and one of our specialties is Love Story videos for couples getting married. We interview you individually, add in the wedding party or other friends and family if you like, and weave it together into a (sometimes hilarious, always heartwarming) story that becomes a highlight of your reception and a keepsake to treasure forever.
